AHI 2013 Annual Christmas Appeal

Merry Christmas

BewllsDear Friend,

As the closing days of 2013 fast approach, all of us at the American Hellenic Institute (AHI) send you and yours the warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and a blessed, peaceful and prosperous New Year.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to write to you on a personal level. For over 26 years, I have been working hard to keep the mission of AHI viable, active, and pertinent. Our founder, Gene Rossides, has spent the better part of his life dedicated to this mission and cause.

While we have had some difficult times and major roadblocks to overcome during AHI’s thirty-nine year history, we have always been able to endure.

We have kept true to our mission of being the Greek American voice in our nation’s capital.

We have worked hard to cultivate opportunities to positively influence the Greek American community and U.S. relations with Greece and Cyprus.

We have continued to educate the Congress and the Executive Branch on our issues and stepped up our legislative and outreach initiatives.

And, just as important, we have built important programs such as our foreign policy program to Greece and Cyprus for college students and our outreach to the Jewish American community.

The eastern Mediterranean remains a region of crucial importance to U.S. interests, and we must continue to advance and promote policies that embrace the rule of law in the region.

Right now it is extremely important that AHI continues all of our important programs. We can’t afford to eliminate any of them!

But as we all know, only with substantial financial support...including your personal support...will we be able to continue and expand upon our mission.

I think you will agree with me that NO ONE is doing the amount of diverse activities that we are doing for the promotion of a strong U.S. relationship with Greece and Cyprus and for the future of Hellenism in our community.

Please consider our great needs and please generously contribute $150, $250, $500, or as much as you are able to at this time.

Your response to this year end appeal will help us start 2014 with a strong financial base.

Fighting for stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, the rule of law in Cyprus, religious freedom for the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the re-opening of the Halki School of Theology, and for peace in the Aegean, requires that AHI be properly funded.

Please help us with your generous support.

From all of us at AHI, we hope that the coming year will bring continued health, peace, happiness, and good fortune to you and your families.

Sincerely,

sig
Nick Larigakis, President

P.S. We need your critical support to continue to be the Greek American voice in our nation’s capital. Please send a generous contribution today.
