Stability and security in the Eastern Mediterranean needs immediate attention

The attempted coup in Turkey and the subsequent crackdown and unrest are deeply concerning me, as it has the potential to further destabilize the eastern Mediterranean.
I am sure all of you have been actively following the recent developments in Turkey. As you can imagine, the current circumstances and conditions in the southeastern Mediterranean demand that the American Hellenic Institute continue to be more vigilant than ever before.
As the potential for instability increases, it is even more imperative that we STEP-UP OUR EFFORTS to reach out to our policy makers, representatives and the presidential candidates in order to keep them informed and encourage them to respect the rule of law in this region.
There is no time more critical than the present for us to continue reminding them of the importance of the United States’ relationships with Greece and Cyprus and their significant role for the security of American interests in a volatile neighborhood.
Your support is invaluable to our outreach efforts in Washington, DC. I need your help so that AHI can continue to strengthen our community’s voice in Washington, advocating for the rule of law and a strong relationship between the United States and Greece and Cyprus.
Please make a lasting commitment to our work by making a generous gift today.

P.S. We need your critical support right now as we face this very volatile situation with grave implications for the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the potential increased instability of the Eastern Mediterranean. Please send a generous contribution today.
